Ive been on the ‘watch and wait’ period with my doctor for a cyst that has grown from 1cm to 5cm (since last october) and i havent been back to the doc since to check on the status/possible further-growth of the cyst since. i have an appt. this thursday bc i am still in pain on my L side. i have been on birth control to help dissolve the cyst since january; however, i do not think it has dissolved (hence why I am still in pain) and i have been bleeding roughly 40 days out of the 76 days we have had in 2008 thus far….which makes me wonder if the cyst has anything to do with this…i have been in a lot of acute pain with my L side and my lower back and if the cyst is still there and my doctor wants to ‘watch and wait’ some more…would you tell him ‘no, Ill have surg. now,thanks’ or do what he says? Im no longer a fan of the waiting game but am terrified of the thought of surgery.
Also, I smoke weed so should I tell him b4 hand in case he does recommend surg. bc of anesthetic?
also, does laproscopy surg. painful? Im so scared but am ready to feel better again (in the long run, that is)

Please help me out..i seem to have a problem with these things bursting..its painful it happened again the other night and on and off today i have this bad pain on the right side kind of low..well i took tons of advil and i tried a heating pad it hurts so bad i feel like crying..i am here with my daughter who is sleeping..my hubby is deployed and i am all alone..tell me what i can do for the pain please it hurts so bad..i don’t have ultrasound until dec 26th and follow up on jan 2??? Should i go to hospital tomorrow?? Please help me it hurts so much!
Is their a different pain killer over the market that i should try? Should i call the doctor again?
I just took more pain killers and in a minute i am about to go call doctor..tomorrow i am going to the hospital..cause unless it gets worse right now i have no one to watch my 3 year old

My wife has had problems the last few weeks with bad pain during
menstruation and when she ovulates. She had an ovarian cyst 20 years ago, but the pain is different. How does this feel?

Today is Monday, and late Thursday night I was experiencing the worst abdominal pain(if I din’t already have my appendix removed would’ve said it was that) and violent vomiting. So after hours of the Er poking, prodding, blood samples and internal ultrasound…they THINK I had an ovarian cyst burst sent me on my way with Lortab and that was that.
A few years ago I had similar symptoms and had a cyst the size of a grapefruit removed which left about 2 cells remaining on my right ovary. I have no insurance and they told me to make a gyn appt. Four days have passed, since it was the weekend I could not make any appts. Now I am so bloated and in pain I can’t walk straight and am always tired. I realize things take time, but I need some kind of relief as to when am I going to be able to go back to work. There is no way I can function right now since my job is very physical and fast paced. HELP ME PLEASE!
My friend told me if I had insurance they would not have sent me home! Why am I any differant than any one else ?? That doesn’t seen like that is even a legal thing to do! Aren’t hospital supposed to be not for profit?
I feel so foolish I call my job every day telling them I need more time. I am about to just say I need the rest of the week off(not that I can afford it) ….what else can I do? I have an ovarian cyst and my dr. has been monitoring it for 2-3 months. She wants to remove by laproscopy but I insisted to try a higher dosage of birth control for 1 mth to see if the cyst goes away. I missed the pill 1 day and know I am kinda bleeding like I have my period but it is like what your period is on the last day and there is brownish/red flakes in the toilet when I pee, do you think this means I messed up the pill or that my ovarian cyst broke? I have not had bad pain….

I came across a site for Mary Parker on ovarian cysts. She advocates holistic treatment and detox to get rid of ovarian cysts. Her information makes great sense, but I’m of course skeptical. Has anyone used her method, and what were the results? How carefully did you follow it?

I just found out that I have ovarian cysts, my doctor said that they are small and that a lot of women have them and it is nothing to be concerned about. I also had a miscarriage 6 wks ago and from researching on-line I am worried that having the cysts could have caused my miscarriage.

hello.. i am 5 weeks pregnant, tomorrow, and before i got pregnant i had a huge ovarian cyst that ruptured.
now, i feel like i have another cyst – i am having a dull aching in the same spot, nothing horrid.
my first ultrasound is in about a week, so they’ll confirm or deny it then. i was told it could be another cyst, and if it is not to worry about it, or it could just be my body stretching and adjusting.
what do you think?

I’m thinking oral contraceptives and hysterectomy. (Have tried oral contraceptives and even the new-generation ones cause my blood pressure to shoot up from a very normal 114/64 to a very dangerous 155/100.) At any rate, are those the only two treatments available?
