Why do doctors think my 1.5 inch ovarian cyst is too small to remove through surgery?
It’s a dermoid cyst. 1.5" is not exactly diminutive.

I have been feeling spasms in my lower stomach lately and not too sure if its pregnancy or just an ovarian cyst. I know that I do have a cyst because I had one rupture and has a scan done that showed I still have a cyst on my left side. I have been trying to conceive but just got off the pill the end of June. Also, I have had a period since then and also took two pregnancy tests that were negative. Any advice? Could this just be from the cyst?
Spasms do kind of feel like when I was pregnant with my first child but the spasms are only on the left side.
can anyone please give me symptoms of ovarian cyst? or pains that are usually felt please! I’d really appreaciate it
I recently had an ovarian cyst that caused me an intense amount of pain, causing me to spend about 4 days in bed trying not to throw up. When I finally got an ultrasound done, it was small enough to cause the technician to believe that it had burst, and that was what was causing my pain. She sent me to the GYN to be sure. During the pelvic exam the GYN said that it had re-grown and that I needed to come back for another ultrasound.
I now have the same kind of pain on the other side (a stabbing occasionally and a lot of pain when it is pressed), and I am beginning to feel the symptoms that came with the first cyst bursting.
I have never had ovarian cysts before. What is causing this sudden onset of them? And is it normal for a cyst to burst and re-grow like that?
i was already told that for sure i had an ovarian cyst that was about 4cm big. i am going to the gyno today to figure out what i should do. i already had an ultra sound done. am i going to have to be examined?
My mother had ovarian cysts and she said it might be hereditary, I think I might have them too.
This is kind of a shot in the dark. Basically, my boyfriend and I had sex two weeks ago and the condom broke. Now my period is six days late, I’m experiencing breast tenderness, back aches, cramps, nausea, fatigue, headaches, and (I don’t even know if this is important) but my feet are killing me. I took a home pregnancy test two days ago and it was negative. Could this be an ovarian cyst, or was it a false negative. I really feel like something weird is going on with my body, because I never have PMS symptoms. If it’s not an ovarian cyst what could it be?
It ruptured & grew back. When it ruptured I had abnormal bleeding. So Im wanting to know if I’ll get my normal period soon or was that it?
Ladies if you’ve been through what I’m experiencing now I would greatly appreciate it if u leave comments
I was diagnosed with endometriosis 4 years ago and have had 3 laporoscopies so far. I have also had an ovarian cysts which was hell before it ruptured.
I have been off the pill about 3 months now & not using any other form of contraception as if I did get pregnant my boyfriend and I would be quite pleased about it!
10 days ago I got the most awful ‘period pain’ which makes me feel sick constantly, tends to make me sick in the mornings and evenings and is really unpleasant. I seem to be on the sofa with a hotwater bottle most of the time at the moment and even my heavy duty prescription pain killers aren’t really touching the pain. The only thing is, I haven’t got a period. I haven’t bled at all which is most unusual as generally I bleed very heavily whenever I have a period.
I can’t get an appointment with my consultant for the endometriosis for another 3 weeks and my doctor is next to useless hence I’m on here seeing if anyone has any useful suggestions before I head down to A&E later.
Could an ovarian cyst carry on causing pain for about 10 days? There is a small chance I could be pregnant which would cause the sickness but has anyone else ever had period pain at the start of a pregnancy? Or is it most likely to be just(!) my endometriosis grumbling?
I’m really not sure I can face any more prodding and pocking by doctors who don’t know what they are talking about & never come up with any useful suggestions
