My specialist put me on birth control to help with my ovarian cysts. I have unknown infertility issues and I am hoping this helps! Has anyone had this problem and found this successful? Looking for any stories that are related to infertility issues.

I am 32 years old and am scheduled to have a hysterectomy in about two weeks and I have some questions maybe someone can help me out with. I have very severe periods/ovarian cysts/fibroid tumors and all that fun stuff so my ob/gyn has scheduled a hysterectomy for me. I really don’t want to have him leave an ovary and have to deal with the pain of cysts all the time so I decided to go with a full hysterectomy and we talked about hormones to help with menopause. Should I take the hormones? If I don’t, will menopause just eventually “go away” or will I have to deal with it forever? If I take the hormones, that would be something I would stop taking eventually so that I would go through menopause, right? So wouldn’t it be better to just go through it now? I don’t know anyone who has gone through menopause so I’m not sure what the best option would be. Any opinions would be appreciated.

My hormones are imbalanced. Is there anything that I can take to get back on track. It has been four months since the cyst ruptured, but I still have tenderness. The doctor told me that my uterus was tilted to one side. Will that decrease my chances of getting pregnant. I want to conceive some time next year.
Thank you

I went to a new gynecologist in December 08 due to about 5 months of continual symptoms dealing with the pelvic area pain and nausea. I told the doctor that i believed i had a cyst. The sonogram he requested for me revealed a 2×4cm SIMPLE cyst. He did not tell me cause did not think it was important to tell me being it was "only" a simple cyst. I happened to find out while i was reading the report myself. This gynecologist did tell me i had gallstones and i should get in touch with my primary care doctor, which the report also revealed. All the doctors i saw and no one attributed the symptoms to anything but possibly and most likely the gallstones. I had the surgery a month later to take the Gallstones out because i was advised that it would more than likely relieve me of my nausea and pain. 3 weeks after this easy surgery i was vomiting nonstop and back in the hospital in pain, severe nausea and severely dehydrated. They released me after the moment they got the new sonogram report stating i now had a 8×5.6cm COMPLEX ovarian mass on my ovary. I was referred to immediately consult a gynecologist/oncologist. I was told by the oncologist that it needs to be removed and they will not know if it is cancer until they get to it. He was surprised the General surgeon did not see the mass while having the surgery. Then he said that the General surgeon said there was too much scarring in the pelvic area to see it, because of a past surgery. I have all the symptoms that say ovarian cancer. Is it possible that this cyst changed so drastically in such a short time? Is it also possible that the Gall bladder surgery put more stress on my immune system and possibly made it grow more rapidly? Especially if it IS cancer? Or is there a mistake done in the first ultrasound that did not find the solid features of the cyst? And why would a gynecologist think that they can decide what is important to tell me and what isn’t? How could he think that it would be unimportant to tell me i had a cyst? By the way that previous surgery was due to a radical hysterectomy from cervical cancer 12 years ago. The ovaries were left in. With so many symptoms that reflect ovarian cancer at this point what are the chances that it is not cancer?

i had an ovarian cyst that burst mid way through my cycle six weeks ago it was so very painfull i bled for two weeks and have not had a period since (its been about 25 days since i stopped bleeding). when i went to the hospital they said i had another two smaller cysts forming in each ovary. i am worried that i now can’t get pregnant. the hospital have been no help giving me advice or even telling me anything about this can someone please tell me everything i need to know. god bless and thankyou x
i am also think i am a few days late with my period so could i already be pregnant. i heard that burst cysts can be a sign of implantation is this true or has anyone else heard this. i also know that cysts can cause irregular periods so i am not ruling this out either. though i have always been regular as clockwork. any more advice would be gratefully recieved thanks x
i never said before that i was infertile, the doctors told me i am probably infertile but have heard since that people have still got pregnant with cysts. i am now very confused,
sorry it appears i didn’t put enough information here, i will make myself clearer. i was told that i was infertile due to these cysts and due to an eating disorder i have lived with for 15 years. hence why i am doubtfull that i am already pregnant, my main question was answered that you can still get pregnant when you have ovarian cysts. depending on what type they are. but i have found that i am now more confused than ever. for the past few months since i was told i was infertile i thought i had accepted it especially when i only had myself to blame, but i am hearing so many different stories i just don’t know what to think.

Can ovarian cysts make a woman have a false negative pregnancy test? I was told that it should not bother it, but I have all of the symptoms of pregnancy and the home pregnancy tests keep saying that I am not pregnant. How is that possible that I am having pregnancy symptoms.

Hi….. I went into pain night before last…. and went to the doctor yesterday. A CATscan found I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. The doctor gave me darvocet for pain and told me to take a high dose of ibuprofen as well. I did not work today. I am curious how long I should expect to be down. I am scheduled to work tomorrow from 5 p.m. to close (around 2:30). I am a server. I really would like to work.. but don’t want to prolong healing. I have to make a decision tonight. What do you think? Can other people tell me their experiences?

Did an xray that lead me to a CT Scan. I was told that I had a small ovarian cyst and they were going to refer me to an ob/gyn.
I have HORRIBLE constant pain in my right hip/waist/back area (originally led me to dr) I also have sudden sharp pains near both ovaries. Nausua and occasional pain in pelvic area. Is this all from a "small" ovarian cyst? Oh and my last menstral cycle was VERY irregular and I have not had one since July 27th so this one is VERY late. PS I KNOW I AM NOT PREGNANT!
Just got off the phone with the nurse. The cyst is on my left ovary and its 3.0cm. I have been having the pain in my left ovary for over 6 months now.
