40 year old female is scheduled for a f/up for ruptured ovarian cyst (two weeks ago), in that she’s older than most to have gotten one. Not started menopause. Why would she start bleeding mid cycle. More than spotting or a light period, but less than a normal one.
One of the tests is to rule out ovarian cancer. Is the bleeding of concern?

ok, let me see how do i explain this in the simplest form..
i have an ovarian cyst (Hemorrhagic cyst) and my period didnt come in february, ( it was normal in january, then it just stopped) i got my period when i was 11, now im 13, could it be that my period is not coming because it still hasnt "ajusted", or because of the cyst, or both?
I discovered i had the cyst last year, and to be honest, i havent had any pain. I went to my gynecologist and she said that it MIGHT need surgery( im finding out on tuesday)
also, does doing sports have anything to do with it ( i ride horses and dance)?

I’ve been having pain in my lower abdomen (kind of a cramp like pain) and my lower back. Could that be an ovarian cyst?

I have read here that taking birth control pills can help dissolve ovarian cysts. (They hurt so bad!!!) Is it true? How often do I have to take them? Once a day? Sorry if my next question sounds supid…If I take birth control pills everyday, does that mean I cannot get pregnant? Is this 100 foolproof or is there still a minimum risk of pregnancy? If I start taking birth control pills today, does that mean it starts to take effect immediately?

I am wrong to be freaking out! I was admitted to A&E 3 weeks ago with severe abdominal pain, after having ultrasound and ct scan it was discovered i have an 8 x 5.8 cm cyst on my right ovary. The doc also carried out a ca125 & CEA test. Don’t know what the results are but now been given a date for a diagnostic laparoscopy on 24/6/09. I’m really worried that its ovarian cancer. All docs said was that they didn’t think it was anything nasty once they’d looked at the ct scans.

I have a softball sized complex ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I have an apt at the gyn oncologist in four days… should I be concerned with it rupturing? I am having a lot of back pain from it… any advice on natural cures/treatment or personal stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
FYI- mine is not ‘draining’ it is rapidly growing. It has grown from a golf ball size to softball in about 6 months. My apt monday with the oncologist will tell more of what type it is… i’m sure they will recommend surgery asap.

Just had an ovarian cyst and my left ovary removed in Oct 09. It was about 9cm big. I was cleared by the doctor and everything on the right ovary was fine. What would cause another ovarian cyst to grow within two months to 6cm on the right ovary.
