Does this sound like an Ovarian Cyst? My period ended yesterday. But for the week before my period started, and even now, my ovaries have been hurting bad, I have PMS symptoms even when I am not PMSing. Last night, my left Ovary hurt so bad, I thought I would die. It was excrucating and debilitating. It went away within seconds though. Today, my other Ovary hurts. Is this worth a trip to the ER?

can I expect from the consultation? It would be great to hear from anyone who has had an ovarian cyst and hear what happened about it. My GP mentioned either a laproscopy initially or maybe a laprotomy. I’ve looked these up on the web but I need a bit of reassurance and probably someone’s personal experience of treatment would be more helpful. I’m more worried about the anaesthetic and these horrible hospital bugs like MRSA, because I have a faulty immune system and high blood pressure. Would love to hear from anyone who has experience ovarian cyst, please.

Two days ago I was taken to the emergency room with severe abdominal pains. The diagnosis was that an ovarian cyst had ruptured, and I have been prescribed a course of antibiotics. I am feeling much better, but now that I have had time to think about it, I am wondering: What happens to the fluid released from the ruptured cyst?
Thanks in advance for helping.

If you have had one you may know what I am on about. If you have ever had a cyst on one side, did pain radiate to the other side of your hip, groin, leg and lower back and did you get increased bowel trouble? I have had a cervical screening and it’s clear….. The hospital wants to operate on me, but I said I want to wait for another scan first to see if its all cleared up… what was your symptoms or do you know anyone who has had this? And could it be anything else?

Can you still give birth if you have ovarian cysts? I recently found out that I have ovarian cysts, I have pain in my abdomen alot I just experienced 1 rupturing yesterday. I know birth control is a way to prevent cysts, but I would like to have a child.

i was diagnosed with a 4cm complex ovarian cyst on my right ovary 2 weeks ago. the ultrasound report and my urine test both came back negative for pregnancy.
i had my tubes tied in 2003 but my symptoms lately seem strange to me..
-frequent urination
-pulling sensation in my lower abdomen and inner thighs
-lower back pain
-severe nausea whenever i eat or drink (it’s really bad like when i was pregnant before-i have 3 girls).
-tender breasts
-abdominal heaviness
i got my period last thursday but it only lasted 2 days.
i know the chances are like 1 in a million that i’d be pregnant but can a cyst mimic pregnancy symptoms?!!!
thanks in advance!!!
forgot to add that my tummy is getting bigger (and harder) and my pants are starting not to fit anymore (not really gaining alot of weight though).
i’m a tiny girl (5"1 100 pounds) so it worries me that my stomach is getting bigger than normal

i went to the DR today and she said i have a cyst on my right ovary, she did a urine pregnancy test, which was negative. i am going to have an ultra-sound later early next week, where i am going to have them do blood work. any ways, im not if the symptoms i am having are from my cyst or pregnancy(i think it may be pregnancy) b/c when i got pregnant the first time it was late to detect, and cause me to have a cyst just like the one i have now…. i have been having a lot of pregnancy symptoms, but i dont know the symptoms of just having a cyst.
*hot flashes
*nauseous (especially after i eat)
*head aches on and off
*extremely vivid dreams
*milky discharge(not think, almost runny—TMI, sorry)
*constipated
*flu-like symptoms
*dizziness about once a day
*MAJOR food aversions
—i know the cyst didnt rupture, cause she could feel it when i went in today

Anyone have personal experience in recovery time from a laparotomy? It is for removal of a large dermoid ovarian cyst. Doctor is predicting 6 weeks off work, but I’m hoping it won’t take that long! Laparoscopy isn’t an option unfortunately.
