I had an ultrasound done about a month ago to determine the cause of my pelvic pain. They found a cyst that is 5×6cms, and I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to see if it has reduced in size or gotten bigger. I am due to get my period tomorrow, and am having severe, sharp pains in my pelvis. I know ovarian cysts can cause pain, but is it normal to have sharp pain very low in the pelvic area? It feels like it is almost right inside my vagina, not near the ovaries. This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten this pain; every few months I get it at the start of my period, but last month, the pain continued for a long time, so that is why I went to the doctor about it. So really my question is whether this pain is because of the cyst, or is it likely to be being caused by something else? Thanks.

Recently found 4cm complex ovarian cyst with septations on my right ovary, extreme pain in my lower back for the past 10 days and sharp pains and sometimes constant pain in my lower abdomen/pelvis for a month now. My lymph nodes in my pelvic area are enlarged and about 1in long from what I can feel on each side. They have been enlarged for months now and I have one on the back of my neck as well… my doctor wants me to wait and do another ultrasound to see what happens with the cyst but I am in soo much pain and nothing has been prescribed.. what can I get over the counter for this? I have also had a sudden symptom of extreme fatigue for the past month and a half… What do you think is causing everything?
I got my period today and I am having an unusual very heavy flow with lots of clots! I never have a heavy flow and never have clots.. Gross I am sorry but maybe this will help answer my question…
Also, I get dizzy/lightheaded when I stand up and sometimes everything goes black for like 3 seconds when this happens as well. Its kind of scary.. never happened before..

Am I being too complacent in believing that you can basically let them be without taking medicines for treatment or undergoing laparoscopy (surgical removal)? Should I take them seriously? I’ve been told women get them all the time and they’re nothing to be worried about.

I have had some severe ovarian pain in my right side that comes and goes every once in a while. I went to a gyno last year for it told her my symptoms and concerns and all she said was that she didnt feel anything and gave me a prescription to get an ultra sound and said shop around because it would cost between 6 and 700 dollars. She then said she would meet me up front and i had to be quick and ask her for birth control and she said ok…and as a matter of fact if the pain goes away within three months dont bother getting and ultra sound. She didnt give me ANY clue at all what the pain could be from! She seemed completely uninterested it all i had to say. The pain did go away for 4-5 months but then came back periodically. It wasnt always around my period it was sometimes at random times of the month.

Well a few weeks ago the pain showed up again (nothing new) but it lasted a long time got REALLY for a day or two and then slowly ended up being next to nothing or a dull ache. Often the pain made my right leg tingle or go numb! A few days ago my i noticed i had to pee ten times more often than i usually have too (this is also not uncommon for me i have to always have to pee a lot) but THIS like every few minutes even when i dont drink ANYTHING. Sometimes it feels like i have to pee a lot and its a few drops and other times its actually a lot of urine. I have had this happen before two where i would have a crazy stretch of days where i constantly have to pee which will suddenly stop. Also if i press on my left side nothing happens but if i press on the right (where the ovarian pain is) I immediately feel the urge to pee and sometimes have to run to the bathroom. Im so afraid i have ovarian cancer!!! I have some symptoms like frequent urination, lower abdominal pain and severe constipation. I also read that can be the symptoms of ovarian cysts. My mother has had to have ovarian cysts removed when she was younger and had endometriosis, and my aunt and a few cousins also have the same thing, is there a chance that thats what my problem is? Or cancer?! I am so nervous i cant sleep or relax because i have myself convinced i have ovarian cancer! please any information is appreciated!

Why does the doc want ORAL contrast for an ovarian cyst? He said it could be a dermoid or hemorrhagic cyst? Why a CT scan? Anyone been in this situation?
