Ovarian cyst!! In severe pain!! Opinions please!?

I started having pain in my upper right quadrant and lower right rib area about 2 1/2 months ago. It got to the point where I felt as if I had a tumor under my right rib. I went into the ER after being in unbearable pain one day, where the doctors ran tests to see if I had gall stones, hepatitis, or a mass on my liver. They ran ultrasounds and a pelvic, finding out that I had a 3.8 septated cyst on my right ovary, telling me to follow up with a gynecologist for possible hormone treatment in case I had PCOS. This was not my first ruptured, herniated cyst, so I figured I probably have PCOS. I recently went to the gynecologist, who didn’t take my insurance, saw me for about 5 minutes before deciding she was going to refer me to a surgeon who could do a laparoscopy to remove an "endometrioma". She just decided on this decision because of the amount of pain I am in. I would rather go about this by having no surgery whatsoever, and by being put on bioidentical hormones. Endometriomas go hand in hand with endometriosis, so I’m kind of worried about my options, as I am only 24 years old and want to have children.

My hormones have always been out of whack, as I went on the pill within the first two years of originally getting my period, since I was borderline anemic and had severe cramps, some acne, and lots of bleeding. After getting referred to a more natural way of fixing my hormones, I stopped the pill and started on bioidentical hormone treatment, which became expensive and I later stopped doing (since I had to drive far to the dr; they now have many in my area).

I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation before and what measures they took to correct this??? Thanks!!

Tonight the pain is severe! Not sure if the cyst has ruptured even more or has twisted or what. It feels as if I am getting stabbed repeatedly over and over in the diaphragm area, as welll as underneath the rib cage. My entire abdomen looks and feels extremely swollen :( . Ugh, so frustrating!

Does it sound like I have an ovarian cyst to you?

For the past few days I’ve been experiencing a mild pain on the right side of my lower abdomen. About 2 days ago I tried having sex [missionary] and as soon as my boyfriend was inside of me an intense pain washed over me, like a stabbing pressure on the right side of my abdomen. Then we changed positions [doggie] and everything was fine. We tried having sex again yesterday, because I wanted to see if it would hurt again, and it did. Just as bad. And afterwards, it kept hurting, and soon the pain became so excruciating that I have to go to the ER. It was just like before, an intense, pressure-like, stabbing pain on the right side of my lower abdomen. At the ER they did blood & urine tests to rule out a tubal pregnancy & appendicitis. They then did a sonogram of my abdomen & a vaginal sonogram (I’m not sure if that’s the correct name for it or not…). The doctor said he thought it was a cyst, and I think he said he was going to have those x-rays sent to my primary care doctor, who I’m making an appointment with on Monday to have a pelvic exam to rule out STD’s. The doctor prescribed me some Vicodin and I popped two this morning and think it was too much. I’ve thrown up at least 5 or 6 times and until about an hour or two ago was unable to keep any food down. Now I can, and feel a little better, but the entire day I was extremely dizzy, light headed, nauseous, faint, tired, etc. Now I feel better, but there is a pressure when I urinate & I can’t even imagine passing stool, I think it would hurt immensely and am so afraid of needing to go to the bathroom for that… There is a slight pressure in my lower abdomen right now, that I’ve had ever since trying to have sex with my boyfriend yesterday. Does this sound like an ovarian cyst to you? The doctor looked at the x-rays and didn’t say that he was positive that I had a cyst, just that my right ovary was larger than my left and that there did look like there was some fluid somewhere that shouldn’t be, or something like that. He wasn’t really good at communicating his findings and that left me kind of confused as to what was wrong with me. I’m hoping my primary care doctor on Monday will have more answers for me. I’ve always been very healthy my entire life and I’m so afraid of now having to live a life full of painful, re-occurring cysts and possibly infertility.

Thank you for any possible help/advice/answers… =’(
* I also have a very irregular menstrual cycle. I’m prescribed birth control and take it on and off (because it’s hard for me to remember to take it, so sometimes I take it for a month, then quit, then take it for 2 days, quit again, take it in a month again, etc. I know that’s bad, and after this incident I will never miss another birth control pill again.*

ovarian cyst removal?

17 days ago I had a large ovarian cyst removed. I had been on birth control pills, but was told to stop them the week before surgery. I have yet to start them back, and about 9 days ago I had unprotected sex. I’ve had sex about 3 more times since then, and still have not started my period. I’m not having any symptoms other than a milky white odorless discharge. I was just wondering if my periods will be screwed up because of the surgery since it was dealing with my ovaries, or is there a possibility that I could be pregnant?

Thanks.

I heard of one and does it have any symptoms?

Ovarian Cyst causing a late period….?
I’m 22 and I’ve always had very regular period every 28 days right on the money. Well the week after my period I was suffering from alot of pain in my lower right side and went to the doctor that Thursday Oct. 14 and found out I had a "simple" ovarian cyst. My doctor thought the best treatment would be birth control pills. My last period started Oct. 1 and ending Oct. 5 and accroding to the way my cycle is I should have started Oct. 28 and it hasn’t yet. Is this normal? Should I go ahead and start the birth control pills now or wait till after for my period? According to the directions I’m suppose to wait till have my period then start takin the bcp? I have all the pain of a period but no bleeding am I pregnant or is this something the cyst is doin to my body?

I had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary, so I was admitted to hospital and they did an ultrasound and said I had a ruptured ovarian cyst and there was fluid floating around my pelvis. Ten they sent me home with painkillers. That was 3 weeks ago and I am still getting a dull pain on my right ovary. It hasn’t gone away even with painkillers and is stopping me from doing some stuff i usually do. I don’t have a follow up because they didnt give me one… What should I do? I went to my doctor – it was a complete waste of time, sent me home with no info… So doctors is a no :( thanks!
