No–they have nothing to do with the hormone the tests test for in pregnancy.
no
I heard it was the other way round, that they can give false positives.
It has no effecting on the pregnancy, for a good pregnancy, you’d better take action to eliminate the cysts.
False negative home pregnancy test (HPT) is never caused by any ovarian cysts. Some rare ovarian cysts (Corpus Luteum Cysts) secrete HCG and turn false positive home pregnancy test (HPT). But most commonly encountered ovarian cysts (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome known as PCOS) may cause false positive ovulation predictor test (OPT) but cannot turn false positive home pregnancy test (HPT).
However, first home pregnancy test (HPT) should be done on the date of expecting period and in case of unsuccessful results, it should be repeated in every 3 days until cycle day 40-45 to conclude no pregnancy case for that cycle.
