Can Ovarian Cysts Cause Infertility?
Nearly three years ago i had two large ovarian cysts removed, they had nine litres of fluid in them! I also had one ovary and fallopian tube removed aswell.
I’ve been with my partner for 2 years now and we have been trying for a baby for just over a year, four months ago i missed my period and had positive pregnancy test, i went to the doctors and they put me under the early pregnancy assement unit because i was told i have a higher risk of an eptopic pregnancy because of my operation. Two weeks after the positive test and a day before i was due to have a six week scan i started bleeding and went to the hospital where i was i had a pregnancy test done but it came back negative, i was told i had a misscariage. Since then my periods have been very irregualr, one month i am four days late and the next nearly two weeks late.
I just really want to know if my irregular periods and struggling to fall pregnant is all caused by my operation and only having one ovary??
If not could someone tell me what it all might be??
Thanks =)

hi, yes these problems may be caused by only having one ovary. do you know if this ovary has cysts as well, or if you’ve been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome? these can definitely cause infertility problems and irregular periods. you could go back to your doctor and discuss this with them if you wish. the good news is that you can get pregnant, and hopefully you will get pregant again and all will be well this time. i think that irregular periods are fairly common after an early miscarriage and hopefully they will settle back down, if they don’t then go back to your doctor as they could refer you to a specialist because you’ve been trying for over a year.
