I’m going to the doctor tonight…

my stomach has been hurting awful lately and my lower back.
i have had problems using the restroom
and i noticed a few days ago that i have these bumps two on my lower stomach and two a little farther down. On both sides. I’m wondering if you think this is a cyst under my skin inside my stomach or if its an ovarian cyst? And what is the treatment for this usually?

BEST TREATMENT FOR OVARIAN CYSTS?

hi, my husband and I have been trying to concieve for some time now, we recently looked into our fertility, my husbands tests came back absolutely fine.
I had a sonogram done and it revealed a blood cyst of 3cm and a fluid cyst inside the ovary, of 4.5 cm. I was given duphaston ( progesterone ) to take to reduce/get rid of my cysts. on my next cycle i had another sonogram, the blood cyst had gone but the fluid one remain the same.
I am not ovulating from my left ovary due to the cyst, and apparenlty the hormones dont rise and fall as they should and my uterine lining is only 2 when it should be around 8, all due to the cyst.
the plan is to take duphaston again this cycle then if that doesnt work. on the next cycle go on birth control.
problem is my husband is in the army we’d really like to be pregnant before he is due to go to afganistan again.
Im looking for any advise to get rid of them as quickly as possible. open to any alternative meds, chineze herbs, homeopathic, anything. we’re desperate now.
thank you

Basically I only found out about this mid October of 08. They discovered it by a simple ultra sound. It’s quite large. I’ve been booked in for surgery on the 14 Jan but am worried that I haven’t been given any other treatment options before surgery. Has anyone out there decided not to have surgery, but choose another treatment option to see if it will shrink?

I have read here that taking birth control pills can help dissolve ovarian cysts. (They hurt so bad!!!) Is it true? How often do I have to take them? Once a day? Sorry if my next question sounds supid…If I take birth control pills everyday, does that mean I cannot get pregnant? Is this 100 foolproof or is there still a minimum risk of pregnancy? If I start taking birth control pills today, does that mean it starts to take effect immediately?

what happens when an ovarian cyst bursts?

what kind of treatment do you need?

no medicine please i just want natural treatment or remedy i just wanna stop the pain it hurt so bad

I have a kind of inflammation in my pelvic and I experienced a short sharp pain in the right side of my lower abdomen. The inflammation has been coming and going and I have been taken some antibiotics. I went to a laboratory test and pelvic scan and a retention cyst of diameter 1.5cm was found in the right adnexa (ovary) and I have been given antibiotic injection and some drugs but the problem persists. May be I have not received the right treatment.I need to be treated and got relieved. Does it have any negative implication on fertility?

I suffer from recurrent but harmless ovarian cysts, which have resulted in frequent, heavy bleeding. The gynae I saw seemed to be of the opinion that these would stop after a couple of cycles and that treating the bleeding – the symptom not the cause – was the approach to take. Fourteen months later I am still getting them. I had a mirena coil inserted 5 months ago but this has caused problems of its own and as I do not need the contraception (SO had vasectomy) I would prefer to have it removed. Besides my understanding from reading about it on the internet is that the coil actually makes the cyst problem worse!

Has anybody had a similar experience or does anyone have any advice?
Mormongirl I think I mentioned seeing a gynae – supposed expert in the field. Didnt want to bore you all with how many times I have seen my GP in relation to the matter.

I think what I’m really asking is am I going to have to have an ovary removed – its the left one the problem is with

I had an ultrasound today in which they found a 1" cyst on my left ovary. How hopeful is it to still be able to have children, and does anyone know of any treatments besides birth control? I want to get pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for almost 3 years.

PCOS
WHAT IS THAT
IVE HEARD IT WAS OVARIAN CYST OR SOMETHING

For the last week or two I’ve had on and off type pain and it bothers me every day and is sometimes very sharp. I heard that most cysts go away by themselves (mine got smaller) but I’m concerned about ovarian cancer and there’s a huge cancer history in my family but so far no ovarian cancer and my hysterectomy was not for cancer. I read that some benign cysts will require treatment in that they do not go away by themselves, and in quite rare cases, others may be cancerous. I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts about five or six years after my (TVH/kept both ovaries) total vaginal hysterectomy. I didn’t have symptoms of ovarian cysts when they were first diagnosed and the doctor ordered the ultrasound and kept an eye on the cysts with updated ultrasounds. The last ultrasound about three years ago showed the cysts got small enough and I didn’t need further ultrasounds.

1. Anyone have advice on dealing with the pain and would heat help if surgery isn’t indicated?

2. If it’s not gas or appendicitis I’m experiencing does anyone know what can be done for them besides taking out the ovary?

One doctor I didn’t like or agree with recommended I get my ovaries removed because of the history of cysts and I didn’t see him for that problem and he refused to help me with why I went in there and think he was just trying to get more money (the wait was over 3 hours in his office).Three other doctors agreed to not take out my ovaries including my surgeon if it wasn’t cancerous as it could prevent me from going into surgical menopause.
Thanks for the info. It’s good to know a cyst can be removed without removing the ovary. A cyst on the left showed up on CT scan so that didn’t cause my pain on the right. My dr. told me to see gastroenterologist for possible bowel spasms. I was previously given a script for spasms but didn’t have anymore. The gastroenterologist’s office wanted me to wait till tomorrow (6 days after being seen by gyn) to be seen as dr. was booked solid. I also got an answer at this link everyone should see. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkWrK0KNEPFeijkgqQyW4Wzsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091118172510AA9p5Dv

A family member died from e-coli in her system which spread to all her organs and she refused to be seen by a dr. because she was to embarrassed about her weight. Had she gone in she’d be alive today. I was lucky I persisted and had them take me in that same day. I found out I had a fever (97.8) in gastroenterologist’s office being masked by Celebrex or it may have been caught earlier.

I have been diagonised with ovarian endometriosis (chocalate) cyst. Doctor has suggested me for laparascopy but I don’t want to go for surgery.

3. I’ve never had symptoms of menopause but does anyone know if estrogen if needed again would help prevent the cysts from getting bigger if present again or would it just feed ovarian cysts?
I was put on the estrogen patch 5 years later because my blood work showed I was low on estrogen and I didn’t have any symptoms of menopause. I was taken off the estrogen patch after it was thought that the narcotic pain meds I was taking for disc injury and muscle spasms could have caused the abnormality of the amount of estrogen in my system. Thanks in advance.

I came across a site for Mary Parker on ovarian cysts. She advocates holistic treatment and detox to get rid of ovarian cysts. Her information makes great sense, but I’m of course skeptical. Has anyone used her method, and what were the results? How carefully did you follow it?

What are some treatments for ruptured ovarian cysts?

I’m thinking oral contraceptives and hysterectomy. (Have tried oral contraceptives and even the new-generation ones cause my blood pressure to shoot up from a very normal 114/64 to a very dangerous 155/100.) At any rate, are those the only two treatments available?

My question is this: Should I be concerned by these findings? I have constant pelvic pain that has had me in the hospital twice. The ER doctor today told me birth control would be my treatment. I wouldn’t think this would do anything for the fact that I have free fluid and a hemmoraging cyst. I’m just confused and would like to hear others’ opinions. Thanks.

What to expect with Ovarian Cyst?

I just went to a family practice Dr. (not my normal OB/GYN) for what I thought was a bladder infection. Turns out I have an ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I am going in for an unltra-sound on Wednesday. Has anyone ever had a cyst on their ovaries? What should I expect as far as care/treatment? What are the chances it is cancerous? A bit worried about the future and confused as to what to expect, any info you have to offer is greatly appreciated.
I had an ultra-sound today, the cyst is an inch in diameter and fluid filled. They called it a simple cyst.

Is there a treatment for Ovarian Cysts?

I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cysts 9 years ago. I suffered them weekly until the Dr put me on birth control. According to her, it’s the only known prevention. However, for the past 3 years I have had monthly cysts around the middle of the month. I wake up feeling nauseous, and have pain throughout my abdomen and stomach. It slowly gains intensity through the day, and if I’m lucky it passes by 2pm with a final stab of pain over my right ovary (it’s always on the right).

I’m growing very tired of this. I can still eat during the day, as I never actually get "sick". I have tried, Pepto, Mylanta, Gas-X, 7-Up, Acid Reducers, and any other OTC to help this. Does anyone else suffer this, and how do they deal with it?

**Sidenote** I’m not pregnant. And once I have kids I plan on having my ovaries removed to avoid this monthly suffering.
