If you have had or do have them what were your symptoms and treatment plan after diagnosis (or the same questions for the people you know who have had them)? Tell me as much as you can–would be greatly apprieciated.

I was in a car accident 3 months ago, and my emergency room tests revealed a large ovarian cyst. Today, the ultrasound technician was astounded that the nearly 5cm cyst is completely gone; but now there’s a new one on the other ovary. She said that I’m probably prone to cysts.

How is it that cysts come and go without any treatment or intervention? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I was told that BC pills help with ovarian cysts, but we have been trying to conceive for almost two years and i believe the cysts are the problem … BC would defeat the purpose has anyone tried an alternative methods. Like herbal treatments ?

my wife has suffered from ruptured ovarian cyst and a surgical exploration had been done the last month and this month also issuffering from an ovarian cyst that does not rupture and she is on the time of ovulation

Am married, and willing to get conceived at the earliest. As i went for check up, in the scan it is shown that i had 3 small sized cysts. Since my periods was irregular, My Doc advised me to take a tablet and made my periods come last month…. and from the first date of my periods, she asked me to take another tablet for about 25 days, after i took, this month, i got my periods naturally. the problem is, still am getting my periods… normally it wont extend more than 3 days, but now, its extending to 7 days and more… am now worried, will cause any defect for me to get conceived. plz help me!

…and I was given Birth Control to help treat it. My question is, because it is a treatment andI have a follow up in 2 weeks do i start it now, ro do I wait till the 1st sunday of my period like the pill says to?

The cyst is unilocular. The wall of the cyst appears echogenic and mildly thickened with some nodularity. Several punctate echogenic foci reverberation artifacts are seen in the cyst wall and are suggestive of crystal in deposits. No internal debrie. No free fluid in the pelvis. The size of the cyst was 4 × 4 × 3.3 cm.

I was doing follow up ultrasound every 3 month and the size was the same. However, at the last ultrasound examination that was carried out on 12/03/2009, the size of the cyst has increased to 5.3 × 5.4 × 4 cm- other findings were same as before. The tumours markers were normal except CA125 was ranging between 50-60 U/L all through this period, and the last one was 57.6 U/L.

I am scared to do surgery, Is there is any medical treatment for it ?

first let me say i have been to the ER, and my own obgyn. i have an apt with my gp next week.

this weekend i was running errands and started to cramp. my period just ended a few days prior to this so i was sure this was not af cramps.
in a matter of minutes the pain grew so severe i had to sit in the passenger’s side of my car. i ended up passing out from the pain and while i was out i had a small seizure or convulsions. i was failing my arms and legs, foaming at the mouth and tears were pouring down my face. my b/f who was with me, rushed me to the ER.

origianlly the pain was on my right side but after a couple hours started to spread to my whole lower abdomen.

i was given morphine for the pain but it didnt help at all so they gave me even more.

roughly 3 hours from the begining of this pain it started to spread all the way up to my ribs. like being shot in the stomach or a severe charlie horse in my whole abdomen.

i got 2 sonograms, internal and belly, and a pelvic exam. at the ER they dismissed me after 8-9 hours as ovulation pain. this was not ovulation pain. something def burst. all the ER told me was that i had a lot of follicules on my ovaries.

the next day i was very very sore in my lower abdomen. and my ab was also distended.

i went to my obgyn who had the reports from the ER and said i had a cyst on my rt ovary.
she also said my urine test showed bactiria in it. so she gave me another pelvic exam and took some samples to test for PID. i havent gotten the results from there yet.

today i have a strange smelling discharge that is kinda yellowish. i’m sure i have some kind of infection, not sure if it was due to a cyst rupturing or what tho.

has anyone had anything like this? im so scared of it happening again.

my obgyn said it could have been a ruptured cyst or that the follicules on my ovaries are popping. why would i have so many follicules if i havent ovulated yet? (i chart monthly with bbt)

sorry for rambling im just very nervous and at a loss of what to do next.

i’m 28 y/o, and in pretty good health, not overweight, eat good etc. i have reg periods.

am i getting cysts because of hormones?

also, my obgyn recommended birth control but right now im refusing. ive been on it before and had bad exp. i’d much rather use natural treatment. i dont like the idea of possibly having too much or too little of a hormone and treating that with some mix of hormones to try to get it in line.

please, anyone?

i’ve been reading about herbs for female reproductive protecting/balancing. also, last time i had a cyst i used a mixture of raw beets and molasses as a tonic and drank it once every morning. that seemed to help, i only wish i had kept it up to see if it really truly worked.

also, ive had headaches since this happened. like migraine behind my eyes and forehead.

as far as the seizure goes i have passed a few times before so that isnt too surprising, i mostly mentioned it to so the severity of the pain i was in.

I a 2cm cyst on my right ovary (prob bigger now that its been a few weeks) and since I am way past when I would normally ovulate I suspect another one on my left ovary.

My treatment plan so far is my doctor has another ultra sound set up for either during my period (which is suppose to begin in a few days) or after it is over. This is in hopes that it will resolve it self. I was told period sometimes or usually make the cyst go away. However I already had one period and it has not gone away.

I have been off work because of the discomfort and on and off pain. She has given my vicodin but I don’t want to become dependent on them and have to take them every time I get these. But lets face it ibuprofen works for cramps but not this. I have had one baby and this pain when its at its worse is comparable to labor.

If it has not gone away and another is on the left ovary what can I as the patient do other then wait in pain? And can anyone share there experience if similar at all? Right now it still feels like the cyst is there and hurts every other day the same. I thought if it was rupturing it would be all over pain in the pelvic area and abdominal area from the fluid leaking out. I have had one cyst before this and it was similar but ruptured right away. This is dragging on and disrupting my life. I appreciate this another cross us woman have to bear.
