I have a high risk strand of HPV and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and I don’t know if there is any relation between what I am experiencing now.
I have a very think discharge coming out that is very consistant with snot from my nose, it looks just like I have a sinus infection, this leads me to believe that I have some sort of infection. However I was treated for a yeast infection about two months ago and this has been present ever since. Also about the same time I found out I had HPV and I noticed I had some clear bumps on my inner/upper thighs and around my vaginal area. They almost look like zits or cysts. They don’t look like warts, but I have no clue what they are. I try to pop them and they bleed very hard.
I have seen that thick mucus like discharge is normal, but normally for only a few days, I have had this for almost two months, and I don’t know if this is normal.
Should I go back to the doctor, or should I just get an at home infection treatment?

A brief medical history: I started getting really sick at the end of 2005 (I was 15) and I would be nauseous all the time. I had intense stomach pain, also. After months of tests, I finally had my gallbladder out because it was non-functioning. The doctors have since put me on birth control for heavy, painful periods and I was on Zoloft for a while for anxiety and OCD. I’ve also had irritable bowel syndrome ever since.

In early 2008, when I was 17, I had my appendix out in an emergency.

In February 2010 I got mono. I kept telling the doctors my spleen hurt, and they finally (after begging) did a test and found out it was taking my spleen a long time to go back to normal size, told me to take it easy.

About four weeks ago, I went to a new doctor (got tired of not being taken seriously at my last one) and told him that I’ve been very nauseous, and have had tightness in my throat/trouble swallowing. He said it was acid reflux, and put me on Ranitidine. It wasn’t working, and after days of waiting for a response, he told me I could try Prilosec. After three weeks of treatment, I am no better than I was. In fact, I’m more nauseous than ever.

Sunday night I felt pain in my lower abdomen and felt a hard lump. I told the nurse on the phone at the doctor’s and she said she’d tell him, but I don’t think she did. My mom called to make me an appt. and the doctor said it was an ovarian cyst and probably PCOS. I had an ultrasound that showed NOTHING. I’m leaving for school (hopefully. It all depends on my health) in two and a half weeks, so the doctor agreed to order me a cat scan, but he "wasn’t happy about it." and thought I was overreacting. Thing is, he’s making me pee in a cup to prove I’m not pregnant. Now I can tell you for a fact that there are at least 5 reasons I couldn’t be pregnant (not sexually active, weight LOSS, hymen intact, ultrasound showed no baby, on birth control, etc.) and anytime I’ve ever had a test like this, they just make me sign a paper saying that I’m not pregnant.

My mom said he’s just making me go for a urine test because he wants to make the process of getting my test as inconvenient as possible because I practically demanded more testing, and he’s mad that the radiographer assured me it wasn’t a cyst before the Dr. had a chance to look over the results.

Q1: Is my doctor a clown? Not only is it hard to get ahold of him (even with nurses intervening), but he seems to not know what he’s talking about half the time, and he told me that my painful lump (that is STILL there) was a cyst that probably already went away when they did the ultrasound.

Q2: What could be causing my constant nausea and feeling of tightness in my throat? It’s not my breathing that feels tight, but it’s uncomfortable to swallow sometimes and in general I feel like I’m always wearing a tight turtleneck sweater.

im 19, not sexually active, never have been. don’t plan on until i’m in a really serious relationship.

I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, fatty liver disease, and sleep apnea.

My problem is this:

From july 2008 – may 4th 2011 i hadn’t gotten a period, and from may 4th-july 5th i was having abnormal vaginal bleeding everyday,lots of clotting, and i would have to change my tampon AND pad every 45 minuets ( it was light at the begining, and coming into july, it got so bad)

I went to my doctor, and she said its just because of the ovarian cysts that i’m having all of this bleeding, anyways she put me on the birth control called try-ceclyn lo?? (spelling..)
and i was taking it for about a week, nothing had stopped, so then i went to the ER, (my doctor doesn’t really do anything..)
they sent me to a gynocologist,he put me on these hormone pills called : PROMETRIUM 100MG
and the bottle says " TAKE 3 CAPSULES ONCE DAILY FOR 2 WEEKS OF EACH 4 WEEK CYCLE AS DIRECTED"

so i took those for about 2 weeks, and had really really bad night terrors, so stopped.

Went back to my doctor, and she put me on these birth control pills called:MARVELON

So i started taking those 28 days ago, it stopped the bleeding for about 1 week, but then i started slowly spotting everyday again.. and ive never had it this bad before! i went to USA for the weekend, and its so embarrasing, i had to go to the bathroom to change my tampon like every 45 minuets, or else i would soak through.

(i know im being graphic.. sorry..)

over night is the worst, i would wear a Big Tenna pad, plus a tampon (super plus)
and i would wake up in the hotel room, and my shorts were soaked with blood!

i also have these unbareable pains in my lower abdominal area.
its not a ruptured cyst..
but i don’t think that this bleeding is normal what soever. its affecting me socially, and physcially.

what could be a treatment,and causes of this?

i plan on calling my gynecologist ASAP tomorrow morning, i just wanted to know if anyone else has had problems like this, or knows anything about it.

I have lower back pain,itching,burning in the vagina along with white spots around the inside of my vagina?
So,about two days ago i woke up with a strange feeling of air in my vagina and there was a lot of itching/discomfort around the opening of my vagina and inner labia. I dismissed it thinking it was nothing but continued to experience discomfort.

Today the burning and itching was really bad and i also had some dull back pain and pressure on my left side.
i examined myself and found that my inner labia was a dull white color with very few bumps. I looked up my symptoms online and found that it could be a yeast infection. I just went out to the store a couple hours ago and bought treatment for a yeast infection but…I’m not sure if that’s what it is.
A few months ago i got diagnosed with chlamydia,and ovarian cysts.
I’m really confused to what is going on with my body. My period is supposed to be starting within a day or so. I’m not experiencing any breast tenderness or nausea so i don’t think pregnancy is an issue.
(the first date of my last period was the 10th of last month,i usually start one or two days after the previous date)

I JUST NEED HELP! what could be wrong with me? Could it be my chlamydia getting worse?

I am 23 years old and married going on 3 years. I was diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy in 2007 and PCOS just this january. I went to my OB on april 27th to discuss treatment for the PCOS and ovarian cyst. He said the reason my cyst keep coming back (i’ve had surgery to remove them before) is because my progesterone levels are really low. I stopped my birth control the beginning of April because I felt it was making my cyst pain worse and sure enough after I stopped it, about a wk later the pain felt better. It’s still there, but not as severe. The thing is my OB wants me to start progesterone pills to raise my levels, but he wanted me to start them after my period stopped this month. I was due to start last saturday and I’m alreay 1 wk late and no period. I took a test last weekend and it came back negative. I’m wondering if maybe my low progesterone levels could’ve caused me to miss my period or if my stopping the birth control made me miss it or if I really am pregnant and my HCG levels are still to low to show. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

FYI: I am also concerned because I was told by my OB that I have to stop my myotonic dystrophy medicines when I get pregnant because they are dangerous during a pregnancy and to the growing fetus.

Also, please don’t be rude and tell me to go to the doctor. I know that and if I don’t have my period in another wk I am gonna call I just wanted some people’s own experience or advice..

Also, before I got on birth control my periods were pretty regular just really long and heavy. After I started the birth control my periods were still regular, but lighter and not as long. Which is why it’s a surprise that I’m a wk late. Usually I would only be a couple days late like 2 or 3. What do you think?
FYI: I have a couple of friends who didn’t find out they were pregnant till about 3 or 4 months along because their HCG levels were off or something. Anyhow, the home test didn’t show positive for a while if at all. My one friend had to have an ultrasound to confirm a pregnancy.

I’m 17 years old, and I’m planning on heading to the ER tomorrow to get an emergency check up done on my reproductive system (I’m showing signs of an ovarian cyst). My mom won’t be able to come with me (we don’t live together, but she has custody of me and all that good stuff). However, I don’t even want to bother if they’ll deny me treatment because my mom won’t show up and I’m a minor. I know that I’ve gone to the ER before for other issues (psych eval) and they just called my mom for consent to treat me. Would this be the same case tomorrow? If not, would my fiance be able to sign anything for me, considering he’s over 18? (My mom’s question, not mine. She actually plain out told me that she’d tell them to leave everything up to him..)

OK, so after 4 miscarriages I referred myself to an endocrynologist. After thousands of dollars in testing every thing under the sun from chromosomes to sperm to hormones to ultrasounds, the dr. says my husband is good to go and that I have a variable form of PCOS.

I DONT have the hormone problems, the insulin issues, the cysts OR the typical other factors. I DO have hyperstimulated ovaries that cause my follicles that release the eggs to mature faster than they should and my lining isnt allowed enough time for good implantation, which results in the miscarriage. I also produce too many follicles (I ovulate 2-4 eggs a month vs. the normal 1 egg).

The dr. prescribed Yaz, birth control. Told me to take it until the bloodwork showed that my bodies ovarian function was suppressed. He said once suppressed, Ill go off the Yaz and my body should function normally for several months before beginning to over stimulate again, which we’ll have to then go through this process again, but its supposed to give us a window to conceive with my follicles not being hyperstimulated and my lining being built up well so a baby ’sticks’ right.

Ive been on yaz 7 mos, now. My level is almost where he wants it. It stated at 7.8 which was about twice the level it was suppose to be. It is now at 4.6. It needs to be between 0-3.

Has any one else had similar occur or had similar treatment? And, if so, did you get pregnant and carry to term?

Ive seen similar on the discovery channel, but I would really like to see someone who has gone through similar and give advise on how Yaz or another birth control helped them in this same way.

Here are the details:

I already have 2 daughters .. a 3 year old.. and a 2 year old.
I am almost 23 years old.
I have always had cysts on my ovaries that my gyno has put me on birth control to "keep under control".
I just found out I have PCOS (Policystic Ovarian Syndrom).
After I had my youngest daughter, my periods have been very irregular so my doctor sent me in for this horomone testing.. but about 2 weeks ago (right before the testing), I went to the ER because I was having pains in my pelvic area and they did a CAT scan and found a cyst about an inch and a half on my ovary. My doctor had just put me on birth control 1 week prior to them finding the cyst to help regulate my periods.
My husband and I are TTC baby # 3.
Anyways, I went for my blood work and my levels came back really high.. I go to the doctor to discuss everything and they did a fasting insulin test and she said that came back high or abnormal (not sure how it would come back but it didn’t come back good). But I DO have PCOS.
My question is, is it possible for me to get pregnant with PCOS? I have heard that women with this have a REALLY hard time getting pregnant… most of them have to have fertility treatments. That is something I cannot afford. I am so heartbroken. My husband and I have been trying for awhile now because we wanted 3 children close in age before I start my on-campus courses in 2011 for nursing…I would actually mark the calander for when I’d ovulate when i would have my period (because I’d miss a month or 2 sometimes.. as it was very inaccurate) but I still couldn’t get pregnant. With my first child I was taking birth control for about 2 years and then I stopped taking it and about 1 month after I quit, I got pregnant. My daughters are 11 months apart so I got pregnant with my youngest when my oldest was about 2 months old so I was able to get pregnant then. I am going to continue taking my birth control .. but what are my chances of ever getting pregnant now? Could that cyst have been causing me to NOT be able to get pregnant? If I take this birth control for about 6 months and then stop, do you think I could TTC again?… I am going to talk to my doctor Tuesday about it.. I am just trying to ease my mind.. I am just upset is all …. I’d love to have more childre…. :*(

I am a 14 year old girl. I live with my 27 year old sister and her husband. My sister has been my legal guardian for about a year now because my parents are f*cked up; its a really complicated situation. Anyways we are very close and I trust her with everything, like she is the one I told about my anorexia / bulimia 2 years ago and she helped to put me in treatment and stuff.

But two weeks ago I went to a party at a guy I know’s house and he invited a whole bunch of kids on Facebook that he didn’t even know and before anyone knew it there were like 200 ppl there. I was trying to be safe and just talk to people I knew but then this senior started talking to me and I guess he put something weird in my drink because before I knew it I was in a bedroom with him and he had just raped me. I do not know what he did to my drink but I was only drinking water; and I can’t remember anything but parts of when he was raping me. I am on birth control to prevent ovarian cysts because I always get huge ones so I know I’m not pregnant, but ever since then I have been very reserved and will not talk to anyone. I’m just so scared. I know I need to tell my sister. This guy took my virginity that I was determined to save till marriage and so I am so depressed right now. I even made myself throw up on Saturday, something I haven’t done in 20 months. How do you think I should tell my sister? I know she will do everything in her power to help me but I do not even know who this guy was, and no one at the party knew who half the people there were either. I am so lost and I am usually talkative and outgoing but now I just feel like such a slut 24/7 because I lost my virginity before any of my friends. I hate this feeling. I am terrified to go to the mall or the gym or anywhere with my friends because I’m so scared it’ll happen again. HOW DO I TELL HER??????

I am 19 years old and have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I have all of these little bumps on my inner thighs that get really big and uncomfortable. Sometimes I have to puncture them with a (clean of course) needle to relieve the pressure. When I do that usually a lot of dark blood comes out and sometimes even squirts. I have seen a doctor but all he said was that they could be cysts due to being overweight. I am wondering though if anybody experiences these and may know some sort of other treatment.
