What is an epithelial ovarian cyst?

I had a cat scan on Friday because of horrible pains near my left ovary. I spoke with a nurse at my OB/GYN today and she told me I have an epithelial ovarian cyst and my doctor will call me on Thursday when he is back in the office to explain more once he looks over the results. I made the mistake of not asking questions about it but does anyone know what this is? I know what an ovarian cyst is but does the epithelial part change anything? I tried googling it and I keep seeing stuff on ovarian cancer and ovarian tumors. Is that what that means?
Also, does anybody know what doctors usually do about this? Like surgery?

Is it possible to get pregnant at 52?

My mom is 52, and she really wants another kid (I’m an only child). As far as I know, she doesn’t have any blocked fallopian tubes, ovarian cysts, cancer, or anything that would result in infertility (other than possible menopause). Her family has a history of aging slowly.

Is pregnancy at 52 possible?
She does ovulate, it’s just somewhat irregular.

And due to so much family crisis, she had to wait. She had me at 36, and then her parents died two years later, her best friend got cancer, etc. So now she’s 52.

What could be causing my infertility?

I have a 4yr old but we can’t seem to concieve another and gave been trying ever since, I have had ovarian cysts once but they are gone. We try one my fertile days even ovulation day and nothing any ideas why its not happening?

Anyone ever had an ovarian cyst?

I’ve been in horrible pain the past week and finally went to the ER, they did a CT scan and told me that my right ovary is inflammed, that it is an ovarian cyst. My WBC was high which presents infection. Could this be cancer?

How common is secondary infertility?

sorry this is so long!! Plz help!

I am
Wondering because I am 26 years old.. In great health all around, get my period every month like clockwork, and ovulate every month as well., I have had some small ovarian cysts which have messed with my period in the past, but they pop on their own.

I have a 5 year old son, and before him I was pregnant 2 other times that both sadly ended in misscarriages.

Since my son, I’ve had 4 boyfriends (and yes, a few sexual flings) and have never gotten pregnant.

Now I’ve been dating (now engaged) to my fiancé for a tad over axyear (13 months) with NO forms of protection, and nothing in the way if pregnancy yet.

I have gone to both planned parenthood clinic and an OBGYN to be checked, and the results at both places told me I looked fine down there,no STD’s,no infections, etc etc.

So.. Any advice?? Is it odd to only have 1 child (successful pregnancy) in 5 years and then fall pregnant again?? My fiancé Really wants a child and I keep thinking I’ll never be able to give him one.. But then I think that A-I already have one so I’m sure I can get pregnant again, and B-doctors told me I’m fine down there.. So I’m sure it will happen again when I least expect it to.

My fiancé was in the Marine Corps for 4 years and exposed to a lot of radiation,he know works on an airfircr base building airplanes, and is still at times bring exposed to radiation.. So he of course is paranoid that he might be sterile. He was married fit 5 years and his x never got pregnant, and now she has a 4 month old son with her current boyfriend. So, my fiancé could possibly have dead swimmers.

Advice??? Anyone take awhile to conceive their second baby?? It’s weird because before I got pregnant with my son.. I ALWAYS would say there is no way I’ll get pregnant ( cause I had sex a bunch of times before it happened) and my mom would always say " you better be protecting yourself" and I’d say " I won’t get pregnant, doesn’t ever happen".. And BOOM!! It happened.

Second small solid ovarian cyst after 7 years?

hello, i have had an small solid ovarian cyst for about 6 or 7 years. after 4 or 5 years at the same or smaller size (it started at about 23 mm. and then 2 years ago it was at 19mm) i didn’t follow it so closely. today i returned to the gynocologist. i’d been feeling tired, so another specialist just as a generalization asked if I had been to the gynocologist recently. so i went back today. and there are now two cysts, both smaller, but the total is bigger. (15-17 mm each) or maybe it could have split in two. as it hadn’t bugded in 5 years it seemed not to be cancerous, but she seemed to have some concern-wants me to go to get an MRI. i have to go around the beginning of my cycle, which means either tomorrow (saturday-if i can get an appointment) or wait a month. that’s kind of stressful and worrysome. usually such scares are nothing, but i guess as we get older there’s more of a risk that that will eventually be something. i’m 48 and i know of a few people who’ve had ovarian cancer. my step mother just died of it a few months ago, my older sister is followed about her ovaries…etc.

i know that 5 years to grow indicates it’s not cancer and yet if the doc is now asking for more tests, that means she does feel unsure. i know that usually when ovarian cancer is discovered it’s already at an advanced stage 3 cancer…

that would be a bummer. i live alone, split with my ex 7 months ago, have no kids, my family lives on another continent…

any thoughts, ideas, wisdom? thanks!

i think i may have that or premature ovarian failure or cysts,
here’s whats going on:
my period is bout 6 days late, ive felt really emotional, i feel weird like im losing my mind, where my ovaries are there’s a dull pain (not menstrual pains)
and im afraid i’ve got Pre-menopause im really scared :S i’ll be 14 this sept.
i started my period when i was 10, if that makes a diff please help me im scared :S :S i cant get into a gynecologist for a while shes always booked up

i just went to ovacom site and i checked the 5 indicators of ovarian cancer: bloating, adominal pain, eating difficulties extreme fatigue and a sibling who had some issues (had ovary removed last year and is rather closely followed for breast issues)

How to KNOW EXACTLY if I have ovarian cyst?

I looked up the symptoms and this is the result I get

a) I do experience pelvic pain after exercise

b) I have light and sometimes irregular period. It only last for 2 days.

c) I urinate quite often. If I drink 1600ml of water, I might need to go to the toilet three times.

d) My sister has it.

e) Sometimes the pelvic area just feel weird and that makes me feel uncomfortable even if I don’t do any exercise before that pain.

f) My stomach looks bloated sometimes.

I am so scared, but I feel shy to ask my mum to bring me to the doctor, Oh Im 16 btw. What will happen to me if its really a cyst and I IGNORE IT? Infertility? No children in the future?

My wife went through IVF back in late january. Had a miscarriage in early february. Has not had her period since the miscarriage, however she has been cramping and bloating. Today we took (2) home pregnancy urine tests and both of them came out positive. And the + sign was dark and quick to show up. Could she be pregnant? Or could her HCG levels increase due to a possible cyst?
She is scheduled for a blood test tomorrow. Just trying to find out info from others knowledge/experience.
Waiting on results of blood test. She is cramping, bloating and very lightly spotting (brown’sh type color). Is this normal in a pregnancy? What is "TLC" by chance?
Update! My wife just found out she is pregnant. Her HCG level was above 5000. We are going in to see the dr. tomorrow :) Now the question is how far along is she with that HCG level?
