Cyst removal scar interfere with pregnancy?
I had a fairly large benign ovarian cyst removed 10 years ago. As a result, I have about a six inch scar right above my pubic bone from the surgery. If I touch it, I can feel that there is some firm scar tissue behind it. I imagine it looks similar to a C-section scar although I’ve never seen one in person.
Will this scar interfere with the growth of my baby in the uterus? Can it in any way endanger the pregnancy? I’ve had a lot of moderate cramping on and off, and I always worry the scar is somehow "in the way" of the baby’s growth. I am currently 6 weeks along and won’t have my first prenatal appt until 8 weeks. Thoughts?

There is really no risk to you or you baby. The risk of this type of surgery is not being able to get pregnant. Once the egg is out of the ovary it enters the womb that your body builds for it. The scar tissue is out side of this so it will not be in the way of the growth of the baby.
Of course you need to talk with your doctor about the previous surgery. If the incision went through muscle tissue the doctor may want to way the options with you of a c-section as apposed to a natural delivery. After 10 years and your description the location of the surgery this should not be a problem either.

I had cysts removed from both ovaries 13 years ago and I am currently on baby number 4, with no real problems. It shouldn’t affect anything in your uterine area where the baby is. Congratulations on your new baby!!
