Did my ovarian cyst burst?
A few months back my doctor told me I had a very small ovarian cyst on my left ovary (probably caused by my Mirena). They didn’t act very concerned about it and they didn’t give me any medicine for it. For months I’ve had minor pain there. I had my Mirena IUD taken out in July and since then I have been on the pill… which I also stopped taken last month.
I am just now having my first period without being on any kind of birth control. Anyway, when I took a nap this afternoon I woke up with terrible pain on the lower left side of my abdomen and then it started hurting the lower left side of my back.
Is it possible that my cyst ruptured? Should I be concerned or just let it run it’s course?
I would go to the doctor by I just lost my health insurance 3 days ago (figures) and it’ll probably be a few months before I can get it back.
Help!
Thanks guys.
I’m also feeling nauseous. I’ve taken some pain reliever with no luck.

it is possible that it ruptured or it could be from your first period in a long time, anyways IF the pain gets much worse you should go to the ER because there is a risk of the cyst causing internal damage when it ruptures, the risk is small most the time they rupture without causing any damage at all
