do ovarian cyst pains come and go?

my doctor suspected an ovarian cyst on my right side so I believe it is.Ive had pains for about 2 weeks.then it went away for about 1 week.then it came back!will an ovarian cyst do that?also,the month this pain started,I havnt gotten my period.its the first period Ive missed.by the way,Im not pregnant.would like to hear stories from women with expirience.thank u! ^_^ by the way,can those cysts stop a period?

I’m 20 years old and had an ovarian cysts in May of this year. The only sympton I had was very sharp pains on my left side of my stomach. On a scale of 1-10 the pain started out as a 6 then gradually increased to a 9. I went to the gyno for a pelvic exam and come to find out a had a ruptured cysts which was why the pain was so intense! They put me on birth control because as a side effect of the ruptured cysts I was spotting. The birht control helps to regulae the cycle again. Some women experience differetn symptons, but here is more on ovarian cysts. P.S- go get that pelvic exam girl!!!
yes pains can come and go, and depending on the size of it , it can stop ur period. u need to have tests done to see if surgery is necessary.
If I were you goes see your doctor. You can explain about your pains come and go on your right side of body. They will look into and need to have blood test. They will tell you what is going on with your pains.
Ovarian cysts can cause A LOT of pain! The pain could be a result of several things, though. It could be the cyst itself, which is basically a small sac of fluid, is causing pressure and thus pain. Or it may have ruptured, which causes a huge amount of pain. Or, after a cyst ruptures there could be some scar tissue in the spot where the cyst used to be. This scar tissue can cause pain mid-cycle (around the time you are ovulating) and end cycle (around the time of your period). It helps to get an ultrasound and pelvic exam to know exactly what is going on. Although cysts are common, you always want to stay on the safe side.
Ovarian cysts can disrupt the normal flow of your cycle. Usually dr’s prescribe contraceptive pills to help regulate your cycles.
