Do ovarian cysts cause symptoms even after it goes away?
I had a single ovarian cyst where a follicle was to ovulate but didn’t release the egg until menses when it finally ruptured as it should have at ovulation. I know these are common on occasion in all ovulating women as my DR said. When it was there it was a cramping feeling combined with a strange tickle like when you hit a bump in the road and get butterflies. It was from pressure on other organs. But, after it was gone (all normal as seen by ultra sound) I still feel the strange tickle in my organs without the cramping. Anyone have any experience with ovarian cysts and did symptoms go away completely once it was gone? I should note, this isn’t a little twinge feeling that I’m imagining.. it’s pretty strong and I’m not preg… my monthly cycles are normal, no ‘female’ issues at all and hormones ok too.

If it is a cyst and if you had a cyst that ruptured then what you could be feeling is the pressure from the fluid in the pelvis which is left after the cyst ruptures. (normal after a cyst ruptures) This also creates pressure in the pelvis and can cause pressure and pain. It should go away within a week or so.
Happens to me ALL the time. My largest one was the size of a large tennis ball. Yeah… for real! Now there are also follicular cysts that don’t really cause too much problems but everyone is different and everyone has a different pain tolerance. For instance, I didn’t get any pain medication after my cesarean or any other surgeries I have had. Just felt like my usual menstrual cramps. I do have endometriosis which causes contraction type of pain so I guess that helped.
So yes, you still can have some discomfort from the fluid in the pelvis. This should go away as your body absorbs it.
