There are typically 2 treatments:
If the cyst are very large and symptomatic, they are often removed surgically.
If they are on the smaller side, a woman will often be placed on a birth control pill to shrink them. Birth control pills help decrease the formation of cysts because they suppress ovulation. This method has a fair amount of success at treating ovarian cysts.
