Does Ovarian cysts cause cancer, and or infertility?

My mother had ovarian cysts and she said it might be hereditary, I think I might have them too.

They can-my sister had them a couple of years ago…
Completely depends on the severity of them though and how soon they are removed or go away…
My sister has gone on to have two kids though and never any sign of cancer…so infertility and cancer is not always the case…
They are hereditary though, so be sure to have regular smears etc..
Look after yourself…
Ovarian cysts – many times as a result of endometriosis- are almost always benign. However when we remove those cysts due to pain and size we always send a tissue sample to the path lab and they almost always come back negative. As to infertility :if I got a dollar from every girl which I left with one ovary after a cyst removal operation, and who conceived later on, I would be in the region of Mr. Bill Gates. All the best.
Ovarian cyst are usually benign. I haven’t heard that they are hereditary but then again anything is possible. Good luck to you and your mom God bless.you both As far as infertility, I do know women who had them and were still able to conceive
