The first time one burst I thought it was my appendix. When they saw it wasn't my appendix (they did a CT) they sent me for an internal ultrasound. They saw not only the cyst that burst, but others. I had a total of 4 episodes within 2 years. Since then I've not had one burst (knock on wood lol). As far as symptoms, it always started with what felt like a stomach cramp that about 30 in after it started it would move to the lower right side of my abdomen.
