Has anyone had an ovarian cyst before?
Sometimes I get a pain in my lower left pelvic area, where I believe my ovary is located. It isn’t constant, but I feel a dull pain several times a day, Also, since I had my son, I’ve never been able to have intercourse without pain, which I know is one symptom of ovarian cyst. I’m worried I have an ovarian cyst or worse. I have an appoinment next week, but I am just wondering if anyone has had an ovarian cyst and what their symptoms were, and if it was easy to get rid of. I am only twenty two years old, and have never had pelvic pain before.

I also had a very large cyst – grapefruit sized – mine wasn’t painful. It was finally diagnosed because it was pushing so hard on my bladder that I had to go to the bathroom all the time (like being pregnant!).
the good news is that it was removed (surgically) back in 1982 – I was up and out of the hospital a day later, and since that time i have had NO problems. My son was born in 1997 (15 years later). The irony is that I needed a C-section (for reasons which had nothing to do with the cyst) but they were able to use my cyst scar as the entry point – so my Csection was particularly easy, and I still only have one (small) scar!
My understanding is that even if you do have to go the surgical route (which is not common now – they can use medications to shrink them), they are now using microsurgery – making the risks even lower and the recovery even faster. Do not worry about it! It’s really no big deal. The most miserable part of the whole process is holding all that water while they take the photos!
I am 19 and have over 6000 tiny ovarian cysts they hurt randomly. Go to your gyno. But I have PCOS…
yes I have, I had the same dull pain a few times a day. Depending what the cyst looks like on ultrasound they may wait to see if it goes away on its own or prescribe birth control pills.
Good luck, and keep in mind that most cysts are totally harmless.
My sister does and complains of the same symptoms and discomforts as you!
i have recently had my right ovary removed but mine was the extreme case. It got as large as a grapefruit but it had been that way since i was 16 and at 26 it finally burst but the best thing to do is see your gyno. let me tell you i have never felt better in my life now that I’m not in constant pain all day
