Have any of you ever had or known anyone who has had ovarian cysts?

If you have had or do have them what were your symptoms and treatment plan after diagnosis (or the same questions for the people you know who have had them)? Tell me as much as you can–would be greatly apprieciated.

I have them. I have a condition called "Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome" or PCOS. It causes your ovaries to not release the egg that matures each month and it just sits on your ovary and forms a sack, or cyst there. The cyst causes your body to produce excess testosterone and that can cause problems with your menstrual cycles and fertility. It can also cause excessive hair growth on your face, dark patches of skin, skin growths called "tags", insulin resistance, infertility, menstrual cycle disturbances, depression, weight gain, inability to lose weight, and lots of other problems.
There are different forms of treatment. I just started taking Metformin for my insulin resistance and it helps your body to balance the hormones again. Some women have surgery to remove the cyst or even part of the ovary. In extreme cases, the entire ovary may have to be removed.
Some women may be treated with hormones such as progesterone cream .
You are lucky if you can get treatment. It took me over 5 years to find a doctor that knew what my problem was and began treatment. I can’t have surgery because I have no health insurance. Luckily, the Metformin is very affordable.
I am a surgeon and i see daily 4 to 5 women with this element,
symptoms are
1, pain lower part of abdomen
2.irregular cycle
3. fullness lower abdomen
4. two types of cysts are there(a) functional cysts,don`t need any intervention , resolves of there own(b)big cyst more than 5 cm size, usually require surgical removal
my mom had ovarian cysts she blood clots a lot when she had it and she had to change her tampons often and felt bloated and cramped the best thing to do is rest in bed and make sure you have alot of tampons pads r uncompfortable for this situation
ovarian cysts are caused due to a disbalance of the female hormones so problems related to menstruation will be experienced. it can range from no menses to little bleeding to heavy bleeding and having periods more than once in a month or bleeding between periods, other than this there may be skin eruptions (acne) , excessive facial hair growth, receding hairline, weight gain, mood swings, dark patches on skin.
treatment usually involves having contraceptive pills or progesterone tabs to regulate the hormones and lifestyle changes help a great deal to maintain the balance…that is weight loss and healthy eating.

"Yes" , I do, and they’ve never done anything about it, because, like the one I have on my lumbar spine, they figure, alot of the times they will go away, and most times when they’ve done biopsy’s on women who have had them, its all been a waist of doctor’s time, because they’d usually end-up, being Non malignant.. I think, I got mine from the years, in my 20s & early 30s from being on the pill….. My sister-in-law, was on the pill so many years, she ended up not being able to have children , for my brother.. Sad, hoh…. I’m tied, after 4 children, so I dont worry about female problems anymore, plus I’m going through whats called Perimenopause, and I hate going to the "Gyno", at all anymore!! So, I wouldn’t be too alarmed, because the percentage of women usually dont end up with any types of dangerous cancerous, trauma’s behind them, are higher than those that have to be hopitolized… Take a deep breath, and relax, you’ll be okay, and if your really worried about it, go and request a biopsy… Or a second opinion… Hey, "Here’s wishing You & Yours, a Healthy, and Happy, Safe & Prosperous New Year!!"
