How do you know if an ovarian cyst goes away or ruptures?
I have an ovarian cyst and my dr. has been monitoring it for 2-3 months. She wants to remove by laproscopy but I insisted to try a higher dosage of birth control for 1 mth to see if the cyst goes away. I missed the pill 1 day and know I am kinda bleeding like I have my period but it is like what your period is on the last day and there is brownish/red flakes in the toilet when I pee, do you think this means I messed up the pill or that my ovarian cyst broke? I have not had bad pain….

I have suffered from these horrible ovarian cysts for nearly 4 years. I’ve had the surgery (horribly painful, only do that if your doc says its really necessary) and I’ve lived through 4 ruptures.
A cyst rupturing is the WORST pain you will ever probably feel. I was doubled-up in pain every time and once I had to go to the ER to be put on IV pain medication.
The meds you are on are designed to help shrink that cyst or to make it hopefully break up on its own.
Good luck!
I think you’d be in pain if it ruptured
If it ruptured, you would know it. It would hurt really bad, and you may even have some nausea and vomiting with it as well. I know one of the gals I work with had one that ruptured and she was sick as a dog and got to the MD and it had ruptured, so if it ruptures, you will know it for sure.
Good Luck
