How should I take care of my body prior to my ovarian cyst removal surgery?

Two days ago I found out that I have a large cyst on my right ovary and a smaller one on the left. I have already scheduled the surgery but it is 4 weeks away. I have a physically demanding job and don’t know if I should begin light duty, for fear that the cyst could burst prior to surgery. The pain in not manageable with OTC pain relievers OR heat. I intend to ask my doctor these questions soon, but need some advice in the meantime.

All of your questions should have been discussed with your doctor already. He could have given you a prescription for pain meds and put you on light duty if it was necessary to do so. Call his nurse to see if she can intervene in your behalf.
