Laparoscopic surgery these days is quite painless. My biggest issue was it messed up where my belly button was pierced. Honestly, you are gonna be fine. You may experience right shoulder pain following the procedure, that is because they put carbon dioxide in the area to help them separate things and see after they sew you up,the gas tends to like the right shoulder. You will have moderate amount of pain but I am sure the doc will prescribe something. The best thing I found was wearing support underwear like a spanx. It holds everything together and somehow just makes it feel better. My gyn’s nurse told me this before mine and it helped.
I haven’t had the surgery, but I was given medication to make the cyst smaller. My friend Monica has had the surgery, but she still gets cysts so for her personally she had rather now do what I have done then have the surgery,BUT everyone reacts differently, you and your doctor need to discuss your options and see what is best for you.
I had a cyst about the size of a baseball removed a few years ago – it wasn’t too bad – it took me about a week to get up and moving again, and about a month to be back to normal… although it took longer to get back in shape – just schedule lots of down time and easy activity, and take it easy – i over did it about 5 days after my surgery and PAID for it – it took me days two or three days to recover, but i knew i was overdoing it…
good luck -
