not really but you need to make sure that it isnt growing because then it can cause probs
No not at all if you lucky then it will go away during Pregnancy as mine did .
i had one the size of a football when i was pregnant and i didnt even know it was there i went on to enjoy my pregnancy all they did was scan me every 4weeks to keep an eye on it and my babys growth there is a chance they can twist but im sure the hospital will keep a check on it and keep you up to date if there is anything else you need to know please feel free to email me
My doctor told me I may have cysts after i got pain before my period, but they didn’t even do an ultrasound for it. They said that if they weren’t bothering me, then i should just leave it, as surgery and drugs are a radical solution. If yours are asymptomatic, as mine are mostly, (If i have them, as i said they didn’t even check) then you and your baby are safest just leaving them alone. Since you do not ovulate during your pregnancy, and this is when the cysts may burst, you are probably OK. Surgery is a bad idea during pregnancy, and you should not be taking drugs either. Ask your doctor, obviously, and get blood tests done to check you are OK. This is really something you need to ask a doctor, as it can vary in seriousness.
I had an ovarian cyst during pregnancy…i did not have any pain or anything…and it went away by itself when i was in my 3rd or 4th month of pregnancy. I did not take any tablets or anything. It is nothing to be worried about. Only if it does not go by 4th month…then they will give you tablets to dissolve it. It is not a major thing….just sit and relax and enjoy your pregnancy.
It all depends on the size and type of cyst. My cyst was found at 8weeks. It was around 6.7cm. It looked harmless, simple, and fluid filled. I was warned not to exercise, to have pelvic rest, and avoid "bouncing" to prevent torsion or twisting. When I went for my recheck at 13weeks, the cyst is now 12cmX7cm and is complex. (meaning both solid and fluid filled). I am scheduled for surgery in a few days.
If they need to remove a cyst during pregnancy, they will do so in the second trimester, preferably in weeks 14-16.
If left untreated, it could put adverse pressure on the womb. If it twists or ruptures it could cause preterm labor (miscarriage), it could also cause bleeding into the cyst.
MOST cysts during pregnancy are benign, and can be left in. Anything over 10cm, however, that has been watched for 6-8 weeks and has not resolved on its own, or that is complex or solid, is usually removed.
I’m sorry it’s not great news. I also had no pain/symptoms other than I "showed" earlier than normal. Hoping yours goes better than mine.
