Ovarian cyst, now having new symptoms that’s causing me concern?
I’m 14, and this is my first cyst. I’ve had it now for about 4 weeks. It was diagnosed at 4.2 cm. At that time, I was just nausiated and having little to mild pain. Now, as the time goes on, the pain gets worse, I’m bloated and don’t have any appetite whatsoever, my bowel movements are painful, and pain medicine such as Naproxen Sodium and Tylenol with Codine aren’t relieving any pain. Just this morning, I was woke up by my stomach. It started to cramp up, so I rolled over, and my mouth started to water like I was going to throw up. I found out that if you swallow the saliva, you won’t throw up, so I did that, and the symptom passed. For awhile. It keeps coming back, and if I didn’t know that trick, I probably would’ve thrown up by now. Now I’m very weak, having pain that nearly spikes an 8 on that hospital pain chart, and I feel like drugging myself to die so I wouldn’t have to go through this. I have a high pain tolerance, but this is just torture.
My ObGyn wanted me to wait until my first period to start birth control, but mine shouldn’t happen until November. I can’t miss anymore school.
What should I do? I’m afraid to ask my mom to go to the ER because my aunt is a hypochondriac and anytime I think something’s medically wrong with me, I feel like I’m just complaining like she does. And my mom has work early tomorrow and she needs sleep.
Is the cyst twisting, or about to burst? Has it already burst? I don’t usually double over in pain, and haven’t yet.
Please help me. :[
(Sorry for my spelling mistakes. The spell checker didn’t show up.)
It’s not appendicitis, and I was diagnosed by a CT Scan with injection and barium. They were looking for appendicitis, but my appendix was fine.

If you have a fever, and the pain is very severe, you should go to the Emergency Room before your condition worsens. Don’t worry about looking like a hypochondriac, the doctors will be glad that you didn’t take any chances when it came to your health and well-being.
Best case scenario, this may just be symptoms of PMS. You might be getting your period soon, and that can cause some of the symptoms you’re having.
If you’re embarrassed about going to the hospital, then call your doctor, and tell him/her what you are experiencing. If the doctor’s office is closed, there is usually a 24 hour answering service.
Just act now, because if it is serious you are increasing your chances of having fertility problems, becoming very ill, or even death.
Hope this helped, feel better!
You need to go get your mom, and go to the ER.
how do you know you have an ovarian cyst. was it diagnosed by a doctor of ob/gyn or yourself. either way you should consult a medical practictioner as it could be anything including appendix, twisted bowel etc etc.
don’t waste time getting answers here we are not qualified.
If it is seriously that bad you need to go to the ED
You’re obviously going through too much pain to wait anymore, and you shouldn’t have to. Tell your Mom that you are unable to deal with it anymore (at the very least, use the "I don’t want to miss anymore school" line to help convince her you’re being sincere). You need to get this dealt with, and the sooner, the better. I bet you will feel better (emotionally) once you’ve got a plan. I hope things get better soon!
Pain this severe probably means the cyst has torqued (twisted) and you need to go to the ER. Now. You are not a hypochondriac. Your mom’s employer will understand.
Let me say this again. GO TO THE ER. NOW.
