symptoms of ovarian cyst?
I jsut called my dr to see if there is a reason why I have not had a period in 97 days and have been spotting off and on all week but only for an hour or so each day. I thought I may be pregnant, but I have gotten 4 bfn’s. They said I could have an ovarian cyst and need to come in for an ultrasound. My question is what are the symptoms of an ovarian cyst, and how is it treated. Also, will it affect my ability to concieve?
I dont know why they would think I have this as I do not have any pain and my only symptom is longer periods and possibly the fact that I have been spotting this week a bit.

There are different symptoms for different women. For myself, I am gassy and bloated and it is exceptionally painful for me during ovulation.
No, it won’t affect your ability to conceive. More than likely you will ovulate from the ovary that does not have the cyst on it.
I’d take up your Doctor on the u/s just to make sure the cyst is not huge and in need of being removed. All of mine have been fairly small and shrink on their own.
Acute abdominal pain and in some cases–blood in the urine.
I’ve had ovarian cysts and my only symptom was a dull aching pain on the side that had the cyst, but it can cause you to miss periods. Usually doctors will moniter the cyst over a 6 month period to make sure it doesn’t grow. Sometimes they’ll surgically remove it, but they let mine pop on their own.
When I get them I have abdominal pain and feel bloated. They can also make me sick to my stomach. I had one that landed me in the hospital because it ruptured and made me so sick that I was vomiting for 7 hours straight ( TMI, I know!) It was awful. That one was the size of a baseball. The smaller ones I have had have been uncomfortable but not nearly as bad as that!
In Oct. I had a very large cyst on my ovary removed. They also had to take out my right ovary and tube and appendix because the cyst had ruptured. I didn’t have irregular periods at all. The came on time everymonth. But for a few months before finding all of this out I was haveing pains off and on on my right side. It would start about two weeks before my period and would last until my period was over. It wasn’t really bad until Oct. It started hurting so bad i went to ER and found all this out. We were TTC and dr sadi I wouldn’t have gotten pregnant with that cyst there. So now we are TTC again and so far nothing. So def get it checked out. Maybe if it is a cyst you have caught it in time to save your ovary. I wish you all the best!!!
