My cousin’s daughter has problems with cysts, and I know that she’s described them as being quite painful…but after hearing her descriptions compared to my three-time experience with childbirth…your average childbirth takes the painful prize over a burst cyst. Neither is fun.
I don’t know anyone who’s had a burst ovarian cyst, but I have heard that the only thing more painful than childbirth is passing a kidney stone.
A burst ovarian cyst is very painful but is not prolonged pain like childbirth. Burst ovarian cyst pain will subside in a few days but labor can last a few days and than the mom is very sore for at least a week afterwards. So I would have to say that birth is.
childbirth
Uh, child birth. I gave birth to a 10lb baby with an epidural that didn’t work right. Believe me.. I also had an ovarian cyst removed from me that was the size of a basketball when I was 16 and I thought to myself "if I can handle that giving birth is going to be a breeze". Boy was I ever naive!! It felt like I gave birth out of my ass instead of the regular place. IT HURTS! there is no comparison to a burst cyst and not even a kidney stone which I had also (while pregnant and while not).
If a burst cyst was more painful, why would "more painful than child birth" be such a common phrase? In my opinion, there isn’t anything that surpasses the pains from child birth – and I’ve passed a kidney stone. Really, I wouldn’t want to do either on a regular basis…
Definitely child birth. I went through it twice, first time with no epidurals and at home because the stupid hospital turned me away! Anyways, long story. Point is, that day I felt like every bone in my pelvic area was breaking, not to mention I felt like I was literally dying. But that’s my personal opinion (and speaking from experience…=)…)
They both are painful and hurt badly. They both can be a matter of life or death. If I had to pick I would say child birth.
statistically, the #1 most painful medical case is child labor.
definitely childbirth. i had epidural so i only hurt during contractions, but let me tell you even during that i was throwing up from the pain. i can’t imagine without epidural, best invention i don’t care about side effects if any. we were cracking jokes during birth only thanks to it. never had a cyst burst but i heard is painful
