What is the best treatment for (benign) ovarian cysts?
I suffer from recurrent but harmless ovarian cysts, which have resulted in frequent, heavy bleeding. The gynae I saw seemed to be of the opinion that these would stop after a couple of cycles and that treating the bleeding – the symptom not the cause – was the approach to take. Fourteen months later I am still getting them. I had a mirena coil inserted 5 months ago but this has caused problems of its own and as I do not need the contraception (SO had vasectomy) I would prefer to have it removed. Besides my understanding from reading about it on the internet is that the coil actually makes the cyst problem worse!
Has anybody had a similar experience or does anyone have any advice?
Mormongirl I think I mentioned seeing a gynae – supposed expert in the field. Didnt want to bore you all with how many times I have seen my GP in relation to the matter.
I think what I’m really asking is am I going to have to have an ovary removed – its the left one the problem is with

In a general sense, "benign" means of a mild character that does not threaten health or life. Floaters in the eye are benign. They have no significant effect on vision.
