What went wrong with my laparoscopy???
I had alaparoscopy and left ovarian cyst removal. I was out for 3 hours and woke to find a large tube in my lower abdomen with 1 liter of blood and water draining from me. I was kept in overnight and was in severe pain and could not walk or move for 2 days. I then got infections in my wounds. I was told that a full abdo flush was given but nothing else was found to be wrong after cyst removal. Why did I need the tube and 1 liter of saline inserted then??

Nothing "went wrong" – they told you that they did a flush of the abdomen, which means they flush it out with a large quantity of sterile water. They can’t get it all back out again, which is why they put the drain in, to let it drain out naturally. It is normal to be in a lot of pain after any kind of surgery, including laparoscopic surgery, although everyone seems to expect this to be pain free for some reason.
Infection in the wounds is a potential complication of any surgery and I’m sure this was explained to you when they consented you for the operation.
It does not sound to me as though anything "went wrong" during the surgery, it sounds perfectly routine and nothing to be worried about.
