will a ruptured ovarian cyst kill me?
for more that 6 months i have felt a lump in my lower abdoman, but for fear of going to the doctor i just forgot about it. i missed a period so i went to the doc for a preg test. 3 weeks ago, when i go, my doc tells me i have an ovarian cyst and orders me to get an ultrasound to confirm it. the ultrasound shows that i did have one and that it has ruptured. i have been looking online and it tells me that it will disappear. it also tells me that if it doesnt disappear that it will have to be surgically removed. i cant tell if its just me worrying too much or what, but i wonder if i should demand that it be removed. please give me some advice, it will be greatly appreciated.

a ruptured ovarian cyst will not kill you. it also depends on what type of ovarian cyst you have. there are dermoid cysts or tumors that occur and you definitely want them removed as it can lead to ovarian cancer but these are not real common and takes a period of time to develop into cancer. you should stay in contact with your gyne to make sure it is just a cyst and not something more serious. i had a hysterectomy three years ago due to a dermoid and am very thankful it had nothing wrong with it. i wish you luck with this problem as i know it can be worrisome.
prob not,but,if bleeding occurs,you can bleed a lots,and faint,and severe pain…..
I have ovarian cysts and not to long ago one burst and I am fine.. I would not worry unless you start having other female problems.
No…it won’t kill you.
Ovarian cysts can be quite painful when they burst. Until that happens, most of the time women aren’t even aware that they have one.
Hormonal birth control can lessen ovarian cysts. If you have one that is recurrent or countinuously causes pain, it might be worth having it surgically removed.
EMT
When I was 18 I had an ovarian cyst get so big that it actually turned my ovary and caused it to loose the blood flow and I had to have an emergency surgery to remove it. It wont kill you but it sure did hurt like h***. And even my doc said it was the worst cases he had seen. It should go away on its on but I was one of those rare cases. Good Luck!!
no they are just pain full i got i got four of them when i was younger i got 2 taken off and 2 ruptured they have to be a certain size before they take them off they are take off through key hole surgery its not that bad
