I lost one ovary to a big cyst and didn't notice any changes really in hormone levels or anything else (they say the 1 compensates for the lost 1). Hormone replacement therapy is so tricky...some of the research says it increases your risk for cancer. I'd do a lot of research to see if the risks of treating early menopause are worth the trade off of not having to deal with cysts anymore. Personally, I wouldn’t have them both removed.
